I purchased this charger to replace a much older and slower charger. Since I have plenty of USB-C power bricks I didn’t mind that this doesn’t include one. Specifically, I have a dual port 45W usb-c power brick.It charged the included 8 AA batteries from completely empty to full in roughly 2.5 hours using this 45W charger. The charger was the only thing in use so it got the full 45W power hence the much shorter charger was time. That’s my theory at least, but I’m no electrician or understand all that so take that with a grain of salt.The charger does get warm but nothing too hot too handle. The batteries are warm but cooler than how warm the charger gets which is reassuring.I did use some previous 2100mAh batteries that I’ve had for a few years now and it charged that battery in about 2 hours. I do have one battery that is dead and no longer charges and I used that to test this charger to see if it would confirm that the battery was dead. I didn’t get an ERR (error) but it was pretty obvious after 6 hours and the display was still on the blinking with no bars filled in stage. Just thought I’d mention that since this is supposed to indicate a bad battery.Overall, I really appreciate the faster charge time and additional mAh for longer duration (2100 versus 2800 for these included batteries). My old charger takes upwards of 8 hours to charge the 2100 mAh batteries and that charger has a dedicated power cord. This charger has 8 slots compared to the 16 of my old charger but I’ll take the faster speed over more ports anyday.The one nice bonus with this not having a dedicated plug is you can use this in the car provided you have a usb-c capable charger. I haven’t tested this yet but I would assume it would work if you really needed to charge while out and about. This is small and lightweight so it’s very portable which is welcomed.I hope this helps you make a better decision and have a blessed day <3
